Welcome To The KAK Cup Golf Outing Website! The KAK Cup began in 2001 to honor Karen "KAK" Barone, who was dianosed with Lou Gehrig's disease in 1999. She passed away just two weeks prior to the event, however, we continue to honor her memory and the memory of others lost to this devastating disease. Proceeds raised by this event are donated to the ALS Association - Greater Philadelphia Chapter so that they may continue to support those living with ALS and their caregivers. See www.alsphiladelphia.org. Lou Gehrig's disease (ALS) is a progressive neurological disease that robs its victims of their ability to walk, talk, swallow and eventually breathe. Each day, 14 people are diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's disease. There are more than 30,000 people living with the disease in the US. To date, there is no cure for ALS.
